It all started with a swipe.

From the very first message, something felt different. What started as casual chatting quickly turned into hours-long conversations and late-night FaceTime calls that made the miles between us disappear.

In true romantic fashion, Gage drove 400 miles—yes, 400 miles—just to take Michael out on our first date (Sushi King on Jefferson Avenue in Newport News, VA.) We were nervous, excited, and completely unsure of what to expect. But through these conversations and our first date, we knew we had found something special.

That first visit turned into three years of long-distance love. We made it work with countless FaceTime dates, spontaneous flower deliveries, surprise visits, and lots of patience (and even more laughter). From road trips and a couple airport reunions to the simple joy of hearing each other’s voice every day, we never stopped putting in the effort.

It wasn’t always easy, but it was always worth it.

Now, after all the miles, memories, and moments shared from afar, we’re finally here—ready to start this next chapter side by side, no distance in between.
